"We Have Many Faces, but one Voice..."

These are just some of our members... They are so many others that suffer in fear and isolation because of the shame and stigmatism associated with HIV. We only include these stories to tell others that they are not alone, and even though their circumstances do not let them share their sero-status, they can feel comfort in the hope and healing others have found. To help protect the anonymity of some of our members, and to remind us to apply principles above personalities, some of us are using medicine/power animal/ and or alter-egos.

This is not because we want to promote and continue with the shame and guilt associated with HIV/AIDS, but to help protect the families of our member. Some have children, and some have grandchildren. Sadly enough, there are those that would use a person's HIV status, sexual orientation, IV drug use and/or past history against them. Some of us just need too take a break from being an HIV/AIDS poster child.

We are people living with, and affected by, HIV/AIDS. Membership does not necessarily indicate one's own HIV sero-status. Until there is a cure, we are all living with HIV/AIDS and we must do what we can to protect ourselves and others through education, empowerment, and example.

	Lynda Fay Founder/Facilitator Lynda Fay is a grandmother, mother, and social activist, who has long dreamed of something like the consumer council. As a person deeply affected by HIV/AIDS, Lynda's openness, honesty, and commitment to helping others is without measure.

	Victoria Charter member Victoria has considerable experience working in the health care profession. She is committed to helping people advocate for their own needs.

	Alex Founder/Council Elder A long term survivor of HIV/AIDS, Alex is committed to helping people live well and survive this disease.
