| Each year, the A LIFE Campaign, seeks
input from consumers and providers of Connecticut's HIV/AIDS community to
define its agenda. The Campaign is the statewide voice for HIV/AIDS,
mobilizing hundreds of people living with HIV/AIDS and AIDS advocates from
across the state to advocate for significant policy and funding issues at
many different levels. The A LIFE Campaign works to enhance the services for
people with HIV/AIDS and prevention efforts. To forward its agenda, A LIFE
targets the state legislature, state departments (Department of Public
Health, Department of Social Services, etc.) and the federal government. The
A LIFE Campaign links people with those who hold power (legislators, heads
of state agencies and even the governor) to ensure that their voices are
heard about the issues important to them. Additionally, the A LIFE Campaign
organizes AIDS Awareness Day, a lobby and rally day at the capital,
attracting over 300 people to the capital to advocate for the A LIFE
Campaign's agenda. |
